Run
In November 2019 I reached out to Nerve Tumours UK to ask if I could run Brighton Marathon 2020 for them, after only 2 months prior I had discovered my love for running. I was eager to run for Nerve Tumours UK as it is a charity that is close to mine and my families heart and one that has supported us since my brother was born.
Ben (my older brother) has Neurofibromatosis Type 1 a condition that causes tumours to grow along nerve endings and one that has affected Ben in numerous ways throughout his 29 years so far. In 2016 Ben went for a MRI scan in London and within two days under went major brain surgery as a result of one the tumours growing significantly in the core of his brain and causing complications. Thankfully the operation was a success but with NF1 you never know what is around the corner.
After being accepted by Nerve Tumours UK to race in Brighton Marathon, intense training has since followed and it has not been easy. However, the challenge has been nothing compared to what my brother has had to go through and will continue to go through for the rest of his life. Therefore, any donations will be gratefully received and will go towards helping a charity that needs MUCH more recognition and funding.
I have attached a link below where you can find more information about Nerve Tumours UK.
