Look how skinny I was ten years ago. I did it once, help me do it again. x

Graham’s London Marathon 2025
Sadly, a recurrence of a torn hamstring put paid to last years effort just 8 weeks before raceday, so here we are again 12 months on
Now, I will happily agree I have made some questionable life choices over the last 60 odd years.
Agreeing to be acting manager here at The Bell at Yarpole and suddenly working 60 odd hours a week is right up there.
But just as baffling, is the decision to run the London Marathon again a week before my 60th (61st now!) birthday. To be fair, that probably beats the lot.
It has been ten years since I last ran it (and that didn’t go particularly well) and it is my ambition not to be overtaken by Charlie Chaplin and Great Uncle Bulgaria like in 2014.
Ten years on and I am once again drinking too much beer, eating too many chips and buying far too much chocolate (altho’ I have managed to stay off the fags).
I had planned to compete in last year’s Great North Run, but over exertion, or sheer stupidity in playing village cricket led to a torn hamstring and a very long recovery period.
The road to Westminster starts here on the mean streets of Yarpole, Herefordshire.
It is once again time to turn to the lovely folk at Nerve Tumours UK (the new name for the charity) to help me get back into my skinny jeans and slim fit Ted Baker shirt and, hopefully, raise a load of money for this wonderful charity.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and you can find out more about their work at https://nervetumours.org.uk/fundraiser/grahams-london-marathon or via the QR Code above.
Every penny helps and, if you can add the Tax relief, that would be even better.
Never mind beating my previous best, this years ambition is to finish before it gets dark.
Right, where are my running shoes and what time is the train to London?
