Grace is fundraising in memory of Reuben

In order to create awareness around NF2 we have collectively organised a small charity football match to fundraise for Nerve tumours uk who helped massively with our family, after my nephew Reuben was born sleeping (stillborn) on the 14th of December of 2021. We have and are again fundraising for him and other families who have been affected by Nf2 and we want to ensure that more people are educated about this cause.
NF2 is a rare genetic disorder that isn’t widely know, as it affects approximately 1 in 35,000 children and adults globally. It causes tumours to grow throughout the nervous system, mainly affecting the brain, spine, organs and limbs. After discovering Reuben had moderately dilated kidneys and a cleft lip and palate at his 20 week scan, 10 days later, he was diagnosed with NF2 alongside MN1, which is a disorder which causes learning disabilities, and he was also at high risk of being deaf and blind due to NF2, these are just a few of the horrific problems he faced.
Unfortunately at 24 weeks we lost our gorgeous Reuben which caused huge heartache to our family. During this time, Nerve tumour uk provided our family with so much support and we want to continue to create awareness for his cause and remember Reuben and we would love to keep on giving back to this incredible charity to help them with anything they need.
So all funds and donations from the football match will be given to this charity, so any donations also via the GoFund me will be widely appreciated by us and other families affected by NF2.
Thank you x
