Evie is my 4 year old “Ginger Ninja” granddaughter. Late last year she was initially diagnosed with Optic Pathway Gliomas on both of her eyes. Following an MRI scan she was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1. Sadly Evie is totally blind in her right eye.

Evie is now on a 19 month programme of Chemotherapy to try and save the sight in her left eye. Fingers and toes crossed for a positive outcome in June 2025.

I’ve never heard of NF1, let alone know anyone suffering from this condition. It is very rare, only about 26,500 in the UK have it. Devastatingly there is no cure.

Evie is the most incredible little girl that gives her all to everything she does. Never complaining, so full of love and kindness. She gives the most amazing squeezy hugs. I’m a very proud Nanna.

I’m trying to not only raise funds for Nerve Tumours UK, but to raise more awareness of this disease.

On the 19th/20th June I will be taking on a skydive and every donation will be greatly appreciated.

INFER (International NF Educational Resources) is a series of online educational lectures for medical professionals by leading neurofibromatosis experts. The Masterclasses take place online approximately once a month, each on a different topic, and include real-time interaction between the expert presenter and the participants. The presentations are conducted in English, with real-time audio interpretation available in 6 additional languages: French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. A recording of each INFER masterclass is then be made available online in each language for those who could not attend an event.
