5km Fun Run for Nerve Tumors UK

Alfie and Kaelan have chosen to run the 5k at the Great Eastern Run to raise money for Nerve Tumours UK after Alfie’s baby sister was born with Neurofibromatosis, a genetic condition which causes tumours to grow along nerves. This will affect her for her entire life and the boys want to support her and others like her. They have both jumped straight into training, joining an athletics club and taking part in junior parkrun each week. At 10 years old they are excited to be able to do something difficult to help raise money for a cause which has become important to them both.

INFER (International NF Educational Resources) is a series of online educational lectures for medical professionals by leading neurofibromatosis experts. The Masterclasses take place online approximately once a month, each on a different topic, and include real-time interaction between the expert presenter and the participants. The presentations are conducted in English, with real-time audio interpretation available in 6 additional languages: French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. A recording of each INFER masterclass is then be made available online in each language for those who could not attend an event.
