Hi my name is Oscar, I am 9 years old and I have a rare disease called Neurofibromatosis Type 1 also known as NF1.
This disease means that tumours grow on my nerves which means I am always in pain and my mobility is affected. I used to love climbing mountains, exploring forests and riding my bike but I can’t do a lot of things now because of NF1 and regularly need to use a wheelchair to get about. Having so many painful tumours is exhausting. There are very few treatments and no cure for NF1 but the charity Nerve Tumours UK are doing lots of research to try and help kids like me. It makes me so happy to know that telling my story could help raise money to help Nerve Tumours UK to help me and other kids who’s quality of life is so impacted by NF1.
My family and friends are working hard to raise money for Nerve Tumours UK; my big sister has made bracelets and sold them, my Daddy is running the London Marathon and now this party is being arranged by my Nana’s amazing friends.
If you can help me and my family and friends raise some much needed money it would be so awesome.
Thank you for anything that you can spare to help, every single £1 makes a difference
