Teenage Transition Day, Guy’s Hospital NF Centre
26 April 2023
On the 3rd April we were delighted to have 5 young people attend our Teenage transition day at Guy's Hospital Neurofibromatosis Centre.
The day included an information session on NF1 by Mandy, a quiz about the role of a social worker delivered by Isha, our NF social worker.
Katrina did a fun session with mobile bingo to encourage young people to find out things about each other.
Lunchtime was pizza and this was followed by Dungeons and Dragons at the Medi Cinema.
The feedback from the young people and their parents was very positive and helped increase confidence in the transition process and knowledge of NF1. It enabled the young people to meet others with NF1 and form new friendships. Numbers were exchanged and we hope to offer more transition events in the future.
Thank you from the NF Nursing Team at Guy's Hospital Neurofibromatosis Centre, to Nerve Tumours for supporting the pizza and drinks!!
