The day is designed so that our specialists can give you information and insight about NF1 and what help is available. You will also be able to ask any questions to the specialists in attendance on the day, as well as meet up and talk to others within the NF1 community in what will be a safe and confidential environment.  

Our NF1 awareness day will be taking place at the Crown and Mitre Hotel Carlisle on Saturday 13th July 2019,   

The address of the hotel is: Crown & Mitre Hotel, English Street, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA3 8HZ*

This day is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund

The day will commence with registration at 9:30am and will finish at around 15:00. There will be parking available on site on a first come first serve basis and the hotel is a short walk from Carlisle station. 

The day will involve a number of guest speakers including:

TALK: Delivering intergrated and holistic Care For Patients With NF1 Rachel Jones- Specialist Neurofibromatosis Nurse

TALK: How to Claim Benefits/PIP For Neurofibromatosis Type 1 with Julie Ann Evans- Disability Benefits Consultant

TALK: How to Manage your NF1 with Dr John Ealing, NF1 Specialist, St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester

TALK: Pain Mangement and Mindfulness with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 with Mary Thomas- Clinical Nurse Specialist at Guys St Thomas Hospital. 

There will be a number of  breaks with complimentary snacks, including a free lunch as well.

The day it self is completely FREE however you will be charged a £10 admin fee if you do not attend. If you cancel before 16/03/19 then this fee will not be charged.

INFER (International NF Educational Resources) is a series of online educational lectures for medical professionals by leading neurofibromatosis experts. The Masterclasses take place online approximately once a month, each on a different topic, and include real-time interaction between the expert presenter and the participants. The presentations are conducted in English, with real-time audio interpretation available in 6 additional languages: French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. A recording of each INFER masterclass is then be made available online in each language for those who could not attend an event.
