Ava-Lily’s NF1 story
02 March 2022
Ava-lily was diagnosed with NF1 quite by chance at the age of 5.
She was at an autism assessment, when I was asked whether she had any unusual birthmarks. A few weeks later, she was diagnosed with NF1 and a few months later, her Daddy was diagnosed too.
Ava-lily is autistic and has learning difficulties, she also has speech and sound difficulties and didn't speak until she was 5.
Despite all of her difficulties, Ava-lily is positively thriving at the specialist school she attends.
She enjoys lots of activities, including trampolining and dancing and really gets the most out of life.
She is an amazing girl who never fails to make you smile.
