At Nerve Tumours UK we understand that sometimes, instead of talking to a medical professional, you may just want to speak to someone in a similar situation to yourself. That is why we have created Facebook groups where you can interact and chat with your fellow NF warriors. All you need to do is like us on Facebook in order to join either group.

Our biggest group is our Community one where we have many members of all ages. Its aim is to provide a safe space for everyone with NF, the group name for Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1), NF2-related-Schwannomatosis (NF2) and Schwannomatosis (SWN) to share their experiences and support each other.

Our other groups are our community groups for teens (only for people aged between 13-18) and for students. These are great places to talk amongst yourselves, swap stories and ask questions to people who have had similar experiences to yourself.

Both groups are completely free to join. All we ask is that you adhere to our simple rules so that everyone can enjoy the group to its fullest!

1. No hate speech or bullying

Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed and degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

2. Be kind and courteous

We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

3. Do not seek or give out medical advice

This forum is not a source of medical advice. Please don't hesitate to visit our website www.nervetumours.org.uk. Our Helpline is available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on 07939 046 030.

4. Respect everyone's privacy

Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What's shared in the group should stay in the group.

5. No promotions or fundraising asks

This is a community space so please give more to this group than you take. No fundraising pages, advertising or promotional schemes.

INFER (International NF Educational Resources) is a series of online educational lectures for medical professionals by leading neurofibromatosis experts. The Masterclasses take place online approximately once a month, each on a different topic, and include real-time interaction between the expert presenter and the participants. The presentations are conducted in English, with real-time audio interpretation available in 6 additional languages: French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. A recording of each INFER masterclass is then be made available online in each language for those who could not attend an event.
