Nerve Tumours UK Patrons
Together, our patrons, trustees, staff and volunteers have created a foundation on which to build the Nerve Tumours UK Specialist Support Network, which provides life-changing, and in some cases life-saving, support and advice for children and adults diagnosed with NF: Neurofibromatosis Type 1, NF2-related-Schwannomatosis and Schwannomatosis.

Thomas Young, MBE
Thomas Young is a GB Para-Sprinter, competing for ParalympicsGB. He was crowned Paralympic T38 100m Champion at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021, breaking the European Record in the process. He has won Paralympic Gold, World Silver in 2019 and three times been crowned European T38 100M Champion. In 2022 he was awarded an MBE for his services to Athletics.
Thomas is diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1.
Gillian Anderson, OBE
Gillian Anderson is a well-known actress, who was born in the USA, but spent her childhood in the UK, where she continues to reside. She has won many awards for both her screen and stage roles.
She has been a long-standing patron of the charity as her brother had been diagnosed with NF.
Simon Callow, CBE
Simon Callow is a well-known English actor, having received numerous accolades, awards and nominations. He was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to acting in 1999.
He has been a long standing patron of the charity since his godchild was diagnosed with NF.
