2.6 Garden Challenge

Event Date: May 2021- 17.05.2021 World NF Day

Location: Your Garden. Your Park. Your Choice. 

Fundraising Target: £26.50

Join our 2.6 Mile and Junior 1 Mile Garden Challenge. Shine A Light on NF by running, jogging, or walking 2.6 miles in your garden. Race at your own convenience - in your garden, local community park, treadmill or skipping/stepping on the spot! – get your family, friends and colleagues involved and help us make 2021 the brightest year yet! 

Set yourself a date in May. You can run on World NF Day 17.05.2021 or run the weekend before 15-16.05.2021 or the weekend after 22-23.05.2021 if this is more convenient. 

Do a 2.6 miles sponsored Pub Crawl instead for NTUK on the 17.05.2021 following the ease of restrictions on the day and celebrate with some long-awaited pints or refreshments on the way. (as long as you have pre-booked tables and keep to government guidelines).

Remember to set up your drinking station, your orange slices and possibly even a bbq afterwards to celebrate! Pace around your garden for World NF Day on May 17th 2021. Help to raise awareness for the 26,500 people affected by Neurofibromatosis - make their voice heard in a changing world.

Let's make sure that whilst the world is looking for solutions and adapting to change, the Neurofibromatoses community is not forgotten.

Run our Shine A Light Marathon over the Month of May – World Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month 2021! Instead of 26.2 miles, run 26.5 miles for the 26,500 affected by Neurofibromatosis in the UK – go the extra 0.3 miles for our NF community.

Whether you choose to complete your run in one huge effort or spread it across the month completing 1 mile a day, your efforts will help make sure that the voice of the Neurofibromatoses community is heard in a changing world, we need you now more than ever! 

For this challenge, we would highly recommend the use of Strava or another running app that tracks distance.

Run, jog or walk 2,650 miles anywhere in the world. Because running a marathon simply isn’t enough. It’s time to call on your friends, colleagues and family to create your very own epic fitness team. Together you will complete a combined mammoth effort of 10 marathons! Whether you decide to split the total amount evenly between you or you have one fitness fanatic prepared to go the extra mile, every step you take together as a team will help Shine A Light on Neurofibromatosis for the 26,500 people affected in the UK.

Spread your efforts across May - World Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month and help to make the voice of the Neurofibromatoses community heard in a changing world. We need your help more than ever!

Only commit to physical challenges that you are capable of, and in case of any underlying conditions, discuss with your GP or Specialist. Nerve Tumours UK cannot be held responsible for any accidents or damages that occur throughout the training commitment or the challenge itself. 

Due to the current situation, we are working closely with the challenge organiser(s) and will update you with any changes and announcements. Rest assured, if there are any cancellations of your challenge you can transfer to a future date or be refunded for any registration costs involved.
